Promotional company Matchroom Boxing has officially announced the signing of unbeaten Argentine lightweight contender Alan Abel Chaves, adding another developing name at 135 pounds to its international roster.
Chaves brings with him a record of 21-0 with 18 knockouts, along with a current position inside the top 15 in three of boxing’s major sanctioning bodies. His progression has been steady within the South American circuit, where he has built his résumé through activity and a high knockout ratio.
The most notable result of his career to date came in 2025, when he stopped former Cuban world title challenger Pablo Vicente in the opening round. That performance stands as his clearest win at a higher level of opposition and contributed to his movement into the rankings.
Chaves will continue to be guided by the Argentine promotional company OR Promotion, making this a co-promotional agreement with Matchroom as he advances to the next stage of his career.
In its official communication, Matchroom did not specify a date or opponent for Chaves’ debut under the promotional banner, indicating that further details will be announced in due course. However, information reported by Argentine journalist Fernando Sabatini places the lightweight contender in line for a potential appearance on April 25 at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas vs Miguel Madueño.
The event, which has already been formally announced, will be headlined by the heavyweight bout between Lenier Pero and Jarrell Miller. Within that framework, Chaves is being considered for inclusion on the card, which would represent his first bout outside of Argentina and his initial presentation under the Matchroom platform.
As of now, his participation on the April 25 event has not been officially confirmed.
