McGregor Responds To David Haye’s Video

Earlier this week David Haye posted a video of him mimicking Conor McGregor’s unorthodox movement in the ring.

“Everyone in the gym was doing their best Conor McGregor impression today, I think I won. Let’s hope his fight v Mayweather is entertaining,” wrote Haye in his tweet.

And sure enough, this did not go unnoticed by the Irishman. The current UFC lightweight champion commented on Haye’s video in a recent media press call conference and he was not pleased with what he saw.

Referring to his hand movement in the ring, McGregor thought Haye did a lousy job at the ‘McGregor-Challenge’.

“I’ve seen people, David Haye, hit pads with it. You can’t hit pads when the shoulder is disconnected, you’ll do serious damage to yourself,” said McGregor.

‘The Notorious’ then took a little jab at Haye’s past when the former heavyweight champion pulled out from his fight against Wladimir Klitschko.

“And David Haye is a guy who has pulled out of contests with a sore baby toe, so he has to be careful with the way he hits pads. But again, it is what it is,” commented McGregor according to

The boxing world has not been very warm towards McGregor especially after seeing the footage from his public workout. McGregor acknowledged this and felted like he’s not ‘welcomed’.

“It’s like I’m not welcome here. It’s certainly motivating, the disrespect and the disregard for my skill set. I look at people sometimes, and their mind is closed. They’ve got such a closed mind on how things can be done. It’s a set way and no other way,” he said.

McGregor will box Mayweather in just ten days at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
