WBA Regular light-heavyweight title-holder Jean Pascal has tested positive for three PEDs leading to the cancellation of next weekend’s rematch with two-weight champion Badou Jack at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.
Pascal-Jack II had been set to bring a welcome dose of competitive boxing to the undercard of the Floyd Mayweather vs Logan Paul exhibition show on June 6. Now the Mayweather-promoted Jack will meet a late notice opponent instead.
Canadian Pascal had previously outpointed Jack via split decision in December 2019 after surviving a late knockdown and last gasp rally from the Las Vegas-based Swede.
“My fight with @jeanpascalchamp is OFF as he tested positive for 3 different steroids,” confirmed Jack on Twitter. “We suspected he was dirty the first time around and @Vada_testing confirmed it this time. I’m still fighting on June 6th and my team is looking for a replacement opponent. Alhamdulillah.”
According to Yahoo Sports’ Kevin Iole, Pascal tested positive for three steroids – Drostanolone, Drostanolone Metabolite and Epitrenbolone.
