One man who knows a thing or two about Joseph Parker and his style is Peter Fury.
Hughie Fury’s coach and father watched ringside as the WBO World heavyweight champion retained the title against his son after a close fight back in September.
The Kiwi is now preparing for the biggest challenge of his boxing career when he faces the current heavyweight kingpin, Anthony Joshua. With four belts on the line, the highly anticipated unification bout on March 31 between Joshua and Parker has got everybody talking and sure enough, Fury had an educated opinion as well.

“I think it’s a very good fight. If Parker underestimates Joshua’s power it’ll be good night. If Joshua gets Parker on the ropes and starts unloading that’s a danger sign for Parker. Parker’s gotta basically use his boxing, tie Joshua up. Keep him off set,” said Fury.
But Fury doesn’t rule out the possibility of a Parker upset victory. The Kiwi has power and he can hurt people if he connects.
“Let’s be honest now, Joshua’s gotta watch what he’s doing as well because you just can’t walk into Parker because Parker has got decent power. You’re looking at his last fights thinking he took people to distance but these guys are durable. They don’t go anywhere. Hughie’s impossible to hit, the other Mexican from America, Andy Ruiz Jr, good fighters, undefeated, Parker ticks all the boxes.
He’s a fantastic young heavyweight. I see this as a close fight. Could even be an upset,” predicted Peter.
“But if Joshua catches him, he’ll go. Same as if he catches Joshua he’s in trouble.
“Joshua is the favourite and everybody would like him to win because it’s what it is. This is not an easy fight. This is a fight for me where Joshua’s gotta step up to the plate because Parker’s a worthy world champion,” told Fury.
