The first ever Premier Boxing Champions event on Amazon Prime didn’t disappoint, as the boxing world has been reacting to the major upset which saw Sebastian Fundora defeat Tim Tszyu to become WBC and WBO super-welterweight champion.
Tszyu was a heavy favourite heading into the bout at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, with Fundora only stepping in on around two weeks’ notice after original opponent Keith Thurman was forced to withdraw through injury.
The fight was a bloody affair, with Tszyu cut on the top of his head from an accidental elbow early into the contest, struggling to cope throughout the bout with the amount of blood.

Fundora was able to take full advantage, winning a lot of rounds and in the end claiming a tight split decision victory, with the judges scoring it 115-113, 116-112, and 112-116 in his favour.
The boxing world has now been reacting to the upset, none more so than Terence Crawford and Errol Spence, who have gone back and forth on social media suggesting that they should be the next to face Fundora.

Gervonta Davis was also an interested spectator for the event, as he shared his thoughts on the co-main event between Rolly Romero and Isaac Cruz for the WBA super-lightweight title.
‘Tank’ predicted ahead of the bout on social media that Romero would stop Cruz, but it was the complete opposite that occurred, and Cruz dominated throughout and claimed the stoppage victory in round eight to become the new champion.
Oscar De La Hoya took the opportunity to poke fun at Romero after the bout, posting a video on social media mocking the former champion for his defeat.
