Shakur Stevenson Reveals Frustrating Update On Boxing Career: “It Wasn’t My Decision”

Shakur Stevenson has been having a difficult time as of late and has now revealed that one of his frustrations ‘wasn’t my decision.’

Stevenson is a lightweight talent who hasn’t fought since back in November when he took a routine but less than impressive points win over Edwin De Los Santo.

He has since said that he was injured in that fight which is why he looked below par. He has often expressed his dissatisfaction with not being able to get the big fights he craves and earlier in the year he even retired for a short time as a result.

He has offered to step in for Ryan Garcia should his fight with Devin Haney be cancelled for any reason and also fired shots at Golden Boy promoter Oscar De La Hoya recently when he accused him of using his name for clout to help promoter his man William Zepeda.

To a now deleted post on X, a fan replied to express his annoyance that Stevenson has been out so long after it was reported that he would return to the ring this summer.

“Damn July feels so long. I’m tryna see you beat up someone already.”

Stevenson responded to that with frustrations of his own.

“It wasn’t my decision to wait this long if it was up to me I would of been back in March or April.”

News has emerged recently that he may finally have a fight on the horizon on July 6th with Artem Harutyunyan in what would be his last fight of his current promotional deal with Top Rank.
