Joseph Parker’s new promoter Ben Shalom says a ‘big offer’ has been made to Joe Joyce to face the New Zealander on Sky Sports Box Office.
Parker and Joyce looked set to fight one another this summer on BT Sport but negotiations fell apart which led the former WBO champion to sign with BOXXER and Sky Sports.
Joyce, promoted by Frank Warren, will fight Christian Hammer on July 2 while Parker is still waiting on a new date and opponent. Shalom though wants a deal to be made for the two heavyweights to fight one another this year.
Shalom told Sky Sports News:
“We put in a big offer.”
“That’s a fight he [Parker] wants. He still wants the big fights. We put in a big offer to Joe Joyce.”
“I know they (Queensbury Promotions) won’t want Joe going on the Sky platform but for me it’s a big fight. So, why not go raise your profile, have a big fight on Sky Sports Box Office and still get to return (to BT Sport).”
Joyce is the current number one contender with the WBO one spot above Parker at two. And in the WBC rankings the two men are ranked second and third, respectively.
