Lauren Price MBE has had her next fight confirmed. The Olympic gold medallist, from Wales, will be back between the ropes for the second time since turning professional next month.
Price, a southpaw, opened her account in the paid code back in June as she outpointed Valgerdur Gudstensdottir at the OVO Arena in Wembley, London, exclusively live on Sky Sports.
Sky Sports have confirmed that Price will take on Hungary’s Timea Belik (6-6, 2 KOs), as part of the supporting cast to the highly-anticipated showdown between Claressa Shields and Savannah Marshall at the O2 Arena in London on September 10.
Shields, the WBC, WBA Super and IBF world middleweight champion, will face former amateur rival Marshall, the WBO champion from Hartlepool in England, in an undisputed fight for all the marbles.
Mikaela Mayer, the WBO and IBF super-featherweight champion, will meet IBO and WBC queen Alycia Baumgardner in the chief supporting contest, while there is action for the aforementioned Price’s partner Karriss Artingstall.
France’s experienced campaigner Marina Sakharov (5-16-2, 3 KOs) will be in the opposite corner to her as she looks to make it two wins from two since her debut at the Skydome in Coventry six weeks ago.
Fellow former Team GB star Caroline Dubois (3-0, 2 KOs) will bid to show, once more, exactly what she’s about as she gets a slot.
Having dazzled in Bournemouth at the back end of last month, stopping Happy Daudi in the third round, as part of the supporting cast to Chris Billam-Smith’s European and Commonwealth cruiserweight title defence against Isaac Chamberlain.
Boxxer promoter Ben Shalom revealed that Dubois would return on this card and she takes on Bulgaria’s seasoned professional Milena Koleva (10-14-1, 4 KOs), a former opponent of undisputed world champion Katie Taylor, in six rounds of lightweight action.
There are also undercard slots for Portsmouth’s Ebonie Jones (2-0-1), while exciting American flyweight Ginny Fuchs will make an appearance and once-defeated April Hunter.
Hunter’s fellow North East native Georgia O’Connor fights for the third time as a pro on the card and Shannon Ryan looks to extend her unbeaten record alongside German super-bantamweight sensation Sarah Leigmann (4-0, 1 KO) who takes on Bec Connolly of Swindon.
