Tamm Thibeault needed only five professional fights to reach the summit of women’s middleweight, dominating Desley Robinson over 10 rounds in Orlando on Saturday night to walk away with three world titles at once.
The 29-year-old Canadian southpaw won every round on all three cards — 100-90 across the board — at the Caribe Royale, stripping Robinson of the IBF and WBO belts and adding The Ring title to seal a three-belt haul in a single night.
How Tamm Thibeault took control
Thibeault used her height, reach and faster hands to box from range, landing the cleaner work while Robinson pressed forward all night. Both women finished bloodied after a clash of heads left the new champion with a heavy nosebleed, but the defending champion never found a lasting answer. The shutout moves Thibeault to 5-0 (3 KOs) — a remarkable rise for a fighter whose amateur pedigree includes a world championship, Commonwealth gold and two Olympic appearances, as Boxing News 24 reported. Robinson falls to 12-4.
Thibeault now controls half of the division. Kaye Scott, who holds the WBA and WBC belts, meets Claressa Shields on 15 August in Atlanta — and if Shields wins, an undisputed showdown with Thibeault becomes the obvious next move. It would cap a remarkable stretch for women’s boxing, arriving just hours after another undisputed night in Orlando.
