Two-weight world champion Tim Bradley has looked at Devin Haney’s power ahead of his move up in weight.
The formerly undisputed lightweight champion remains undefeated, but will shed those titles for a crack 140lbs. First up is WBC Super-Lightweight Champion, Regis Prograis, who has accused the challenger of not being able to ‘crack an egg.’
His jab is masterful, and he has shown time and again that he can outbox the best of them. If ‘The Dream’s critics zone in on anything, it’s his 50% knockout ratio.
Speaking to FightHype, Bradley first said that the fight would be a test of the 25-year-old’s chin.
“Personally I feel like both guys have a lot to prove, they are both coming off of suspect victories. I’m expecting a really good fight and I would say 50/50 down the middle, because Prograis has got a puncher’s chance, he has got to hurt Haney.
It’s his [Haney’s] first time at 140lbs, he is definitely going to feel the difference as far as punching power is concerned.”
He then spoke on the threat of Haney’s own shots, but had bad news for fans looking for more stoppages.
“No, [I don’t think Haney will have any more punching power up at 140lbs], not at all. You either have it or you don’t, he is not a puncher like that.
He has got respectful power and good timing, he can buzz you but those one-hitter-quitters, I’ve only seen one and it was against Antonio Moran, but I don’t think that he is going to have more power.”
Haney challenges for Prograis’ WBC 140 belt this coming Saturday.
