Tommy Fury Reacts To KSI Saying He Feels Like He Could Beat Canelo And Beterbiev

Ahead of this weekend’s fight with KSI, Tommy Fury has said some of the Misfit man’s recent comments are “utter bulls**t.”

The fight sees Fury returning to the same ring in Manchester in which he made his pro boxing debut back in 2018.

Since then he has fought only eight times, with his most high-profile win coming last time out against YouTuber-turned-fighter Jake Paul in February this year.

His next opponent, KSI, is also a content creator come fighter, whose most notable win was against Jake’s brother Logan Paul in November 2019. Since then he has fought on a number of Misfits cards and beaten four influencer fighters.

According to a recent interview, those wins have apparently given KSI the confidence to think he could now defeat elite professionals and world title holders like Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez, Dimitri Bivol and Artur Beterbiev – although the clip in context is more about mindset rather than skill.

Boxing Social asked Fury his thoughts on the comments from his opponent.

“I’m not even gonna react to them comments … Jake Paul’s comments and this man’s comments about getting in the ring with fighters like that, you’ve just got to dismiss them straightaway. It’s complete and utter bulls**t.”

Asked how the fight – which is tipped to perform excellently on pay-per-view – goes when the first bell rings, Fury said he is the rightful favourite.

“I mean it’s not difficult is it? I’m the professional boxer, I’ve been doing this all my life, and KSI’s a fool really. He’s never boxed anyone that isn’t a rapper or a YouTuber. I’m expected to win and I will win.”

The main event tops a pay-per-view card live on DAZN this weekend.
