There might not a be fighter linked to more potential fights at the moment than Tony ‘The Bomber’ Bellew.
The current WBC Emeritus World cruiserweight champion confirmed in a recent interview with IFL.tv that he will be fighting this year. According to Eddie Hearn, Bellew’s fight will be a pay-per-view event, but against who? Bellew gave the latest update.
“December,” said Bellew when asked about the month he will step back into the ring.
Lately, Bellew has been mentioned in the same sentence as Andre Ward, Joseph Parker, David Haye and now, UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping. Who will it eventually be? Hard to tell at this point according to ‘The Bomber’.
“All of a sudden I was negotiating with Andre Ward, then something else came up, and now this Bisping thing has come about. There’s some much time, I don’t actually know. Until it’s actually done, you just don’t know,” told The Liverpudlian.
The aforementioned boxing match against Bisping is realistically very possible. Both fighters have verbally agreed to fight and it’s now just down to scheduling and paperwork.
Well it looks and sounds good to me… @EddieHearn can provide the stage and I'll provide a knockout to add to my highlight reel. đđđ https://t.co/UIWKAIv29J

“Unrealistic? No, not really. He [Bisping] says he’s willing to. We’ll see how all that goes,” commented Bellew.
The one fight that might actually bring some sense in all of this is the upcoming WBO heavyweight title clash between Joseph Parker and Hughie Fury. There’s has been some talk of Bellew facing Parker next if he retains but at this point, it’s still very uncertain.
However, the WBC Emeritus champion did mention when his next fight will be announced. He also said a couple of words about David Haye in true Bellew-fashion.
Bellew revealed that he will make an announcement ‘within seven days’ after Mayweather-McGregor.
The name David Haye was also mentioned but Bellew wasn’t having any of it. The rematch is not happening.
“F**k him, forget him. Just forget him,” he said.
