Top Trainer Backs Bivol To Beat Beterbiev To Become Undisputed

Dimitri Bivol versus Artur Beterbiev is one of the best fights to be made and the hardest results to call but one top trainer is backing Bivol to come out on top should the pair meet.

After many years without undisputed contests in any division, boxing has seen four belt champions crowned across a number of weight classes in recent years.

The fight between Beterbiev and Bivol is one that is on the cards for Saudi Arabia later in the summer and would see two unbeaten fighters come up against one another in a fine clash of styles.

Bivol is the technician with great footwork and control of distance, while Beterbiev is a come-forward fighter who pressures opponents with his feet and constant punching before eventually knocking them out, as he has done in 100% of his fights so far.

Speaking to ES News, former Anthony Joshua coach Robert Garcia explained why he thinks Bivol will be hard to beat.

“Bivol is one of those guys who is hard to beat because he keeps you on the outside. Like if you’re fencing, he’s really good at it.”

He then proposed one possible way to beat Bivol but admitted it didn’t suit Beterbiev.

“You have to, and I don’t know if Beterbiev is the one, he’s got to rush him, that’s the only way he can beat him, rush him and hurt him bad. but Beterbiev doesn’t fight like that either. I pick Bivol to become undisputed.”

Despite being the more fleet of foot, Bivol has claimed he isn’t too concerned with how big the ring might be should these two meet, which might lead to a more physical fight than we might expect from him.
