Tyson Fury has come out with a rather shocking opinion of the fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul.
This is a contest that has upset many in the boxing world. It will see a 58-year-old former heavyweight legend against a YouTuber turned boxer who is around 30 years his junior.
It is also set to be the first live sport streamed on Netflix and is set to take place in Texas in the summer, though whether or not it is an exhibition with head guards or a full professional fight that will be scored is yet to be revealed.
In his last fight, Paul beat Ryan Bourland by knockout in the first round having also fought the likes of Nate Diaz and Tommy Fury.
Tyson’s last outing was an exhibition in 2020, many years after he retired from the professional ranks following two back-to-back losses in 2005 having once been the youngest-ever world heavyweight champion.
Speaking to the Stomping Ground, Fury – who recently hinted that Deontay Wilder has a big fight locked in – admitted he was all for it.
“I think it’s fantastic for boxing. You’ve got a legend in Mike Tyson, and a YouTube boxer who’s come into the game and blown it up with millions of followers and millions of eyes.
“Good bad or indifferent, some people love him, some people hate him, I think it’s a very good spectacle, it brings a lot of people to the game.
“Who am I to say they should be boxing? Good luck to them, they’re both going to make a s***ton of money so isn’t that what it’s about?!
