Tyson Fury Sparring Partner Has Bold Prediction For Oleksandr Usyk Fight

A man who has sparred with Tyson Fury has a bold prediction for what will happen when The Gypsy King takes on Oleksandr Usyk in May.

Fury steps into the ring out in Saudi Arabia after a below-par performance against Francis Ngannou last time out in which he only just managed to get the points win over 10 against a boxing novice.

He then sustained a cut late in sparring in February which meant the fight had to be moved from later that month to May 18 which is a concern for some.

He will need to be at his best for Usyk, the former undisputed cruiserweight king who himself has had a fine run in his last three fights, beating Anthony Joshua to claim three world titles, then defending them twice, once against Joshua, then again against Daniel Dubois last August.

In a post on his Instagram after sparring with Fury, Ty Mitchell suggests that Fury will dominate the fight.

“Sparring no1 heavyweight on the planet whilst fasting? Yh completed it mate ? total domination May 18th Saudi! Inn shaa Allah!!”

Mitchell calls himself ‘the best kept secret in British boxing’ on his Instagram page and is the founder of Get Heard, a charitable project aimed at raising awareness about gang violence and street fighting.

Quite whether or not he has provided the sort of challenges in sparring that will be of much use to Tyson against a technically gifted southpaw, former Olympian and undefeated heavyweight like Usyk, time will tell.
