Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis could be returning to a boxing ring soon.
The lightweight fighter hasn’t been seen since escaping with a fortuitous draw against Lamont Roach Jr., and though there was a mandated rematch, he swerved the do-over to instead box Jake Paul in a wild crossover bout.
Most Valuable Promotions canned the event, though, and maneuvered Paul into an Anthony Joshua fight later in the year, just to save some kind of show on Netflix.
The reason for the cancellation was because ‘Tank’ was facing criminal and civil cases tied to an alleged October, 2025 domestic incident for battery and attempted kidnapping charges, with one count dropped, per Reuters. He’s also accused of violating probation from a prior hit-and-run, with a warrant issued, and has filed a $20 million countersuit.
Considering Davis’s status in boxing just one year prior to the latest scandal, the fighter could have become the face of the sport, and a pound-for-pound sensation.
But, in his absence, he’s lost that spot to fighters like David Benavidez, Shakur Stevenson, and Devin Haney, who have all been surging up the P4P ladder.
Davis, though, appears to be coming back.
And he could be back very soon.
“Yes, we back in action soon.”

Davis, 31, is a 31-fight veteran with 28 knockouts from 30 wins against just one draw. He’s beaten Jose Pedraza, Rolando Romero, and Ryan Garcia, among others.
