With the recent news of Wladimir Klitschko officially retiring from professional boxing, Anthony Joshua is now moving on to the next challenge.
Promoter Eddie Hearn and Joshua have both confirmed on multiple occasions that plan B is to fight mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev.
“Plan B would be looking at the option with Pulev, and where we would fight him and the options available for the Pulev fight,” told Joshua in an interview with the Daily Mirror.
“If we don’t fight him, it will be Pulev on October 28 in Cardiff,” confirmed Hearn in an interview.
The Bulgarian Pulev is the mandatory challenger for Joshua’s IBF title. He was going to challenge Joshua earlier this year after the first Klitschko episode but Hearn applied for a special request from the IBF to put Pulev aside and fight Klitschko again.
