Edgar Berlanga is not waiting for the phone to ring. The super-middleweight posted a promotional graphic on Saturday night mocking up a catchweight fight with Jake Paul on Netflix — a fight that, crucially, nobody has actually announced.
Berlanga shared the poster on his X account with almost no explanation, creating the look of a done deal with no date and no venue. There has been no matching word from Paul, Most Valuable Promotions or Netflix, which makes the graphic look less like breaking news and more like Berlanga advertising himself for one of boxing’s biggest paydays.

The idea isn’t new. As Boxing News 24 notes, Berlanga chased Paul and called for a contract back in late 2025, only for ‘The Problem Child’ to face Anthony Joshua in December instead. A Paul bout would dwarf the exposure and money on offer to Berlanga at 168lbs.
Fresh off a July 26 stoppage of Steven Butler at Madison Square Garden, Berlanga remains one of several names in the Paul conversation — though a Tommy Fury rematch has drawn more noise, with Chris Eubank Jr and Ryan Garcia also floated. The poster may be fiction. The interest behind it clearly isn’t.
