Carl Froch Has Damning Verdict On Francis Ngannou After Anthony Joshua Loss

Carl Froch has issued his verdict on Francis Ngannou’s conclusive loss to Anthony Joshua this past weekend.

Some people expected Ngannou to push Joshua hard in their 10-round contest. Plenty even thought that the former UFC champion and man who has recorded the hardest punch on the planet, might be able to knock Joshua out. Instead, quite the opposite happened.

Joshua came out sharp and delivered two razor-sharp straight right hands that put Ngannou down. Early in the second round, he threw a third and final right hand that folded Ngannou to the canvas and left him out cold.

The referee didn’t even need to count and wiped it off instantly. It was a fine performance from Joshua and one that led former super-middleweight champion Froch to deliver his verdict on his Froch on Fighting channel on YouTube.

“AJ deserves all the credit, he’s got in there, he’s done the business, he’s smashed Ngannou and that’s probably finished Ngannou’s career, he’s made a few quid, he deserves respect, he’s gone in there with two of the best in the business but we should never see him in the heavyweight ring, the boxing ring, ever. again.”

He continued and said the result is what everyone should have respected.

“This shows that somebody who is not a professional fighter shouldn’t be in with a former heavyweight champion. For me it’s justified what’s happened. It shows that boxing, the art of pugilism, the sweet science, it is what it is. Ngannou just didn’t belong in there with Anthony Joshua.”

Whether or not Ngannou fancies his chances in the boxing ring against anyone else, only time will tell.
