Things are heating up between Dimitry Bivol and Artur Beterbiev as the two light heavyweights prepare to do battle with one another on June 1st and now Bivol has responded to a rather cryptic threat from Beterbiev in the build-up.
These two champions are both undefeated so far in the ring. Bivol’s recent wins have come against Lyndon Arthur, Gilberto Ramirez and Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez while Beterbiev has beaten a trio of Brits in Callum Smith, Callum Johnson and Anthony Yarde.
Speaking to Boxing Social, he was asked why Beterbiev said ‘he knows’ when asked about the fight with Bivol.
“Ask him what he knows. I didn’t talk to him.”
He was then asked if Beterbiev was the toughest fight of his career.
“Yeah of course he’s the toughest fight of my career because he has three belts he’s a last step before the goal, yeh, and I treat him as the most dangerous opponent.”
Finally, he was asked what the fight meant to him and about how he would approach it.
“I’m just doing my history. I want to be marked in the boxing history. This is my chance to be marked. The real professional fighter he has to have a lot of different scenarios. Of course, I have bad scenarios, good scenarios, a lot of different scenarios.
“It’s boxing, it’s not running where you’re just challenged against time, we have an opponent who has his own plan also so you have to be ready for improvisation. Of course, you have some plans but you have to have some space for improvisation also. “
