Ryan Garcia says he is in no rush to give Devin Haney a rematch, insisting his rival must “sit with that loss” while he pursues bigger names. Asked about a second Garcia Haney fight, the WBC welterweight champion told The Ring (via Boxing News 24) he has other plans after facing Conor Benn in Las Vegas on September 12.
“I’m not in a rush to make that fight happen. They have to sit with that loss,” Garcia said. “Why do I have to beg for it? I’m here. I’m about to beat up Conor Benn. I want Teofimo Lopez, Rolando Romero and Shakur Stevenson. I have a lot of options. I’m not really worried about Haney now. If it happens, it happens.”

The bad blood dates back to April 2024, when Garcia dropped Haney three times and won a majority decision — a result later changed to a no-contest after Garcia tested positive for ostarine. Haney’s camp has refused to treat it as a legitimate defeat ever since, and drug testing has shadowed every rematch conversation.
