Joseph Parker is just over two weeks from the biggest fight of his career. He will put his WBO world heavyweight title on the line against the knockout sensation, IBF, IBO and WBA world heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua.
Both fighters will put their undefeated records on the line in a mammoth world heavyweight title fight. But it will not be the first time that happened.

At the start of the month, Deontay Wilder turned in arguably the finest performance of his in a matchup which pitted him against the feared and undefeated Luis ‘King Kong’ Ortiz.
Wilder successfully made the seventh defence of his world heavyweight title that night, knocking out Ortiz is a stunning climax to an enthralling fight in the tenth round of their fight.
Reacting to that performance earlier in the month, Joseph Parker shared “I think it was good for him to get the victory. It was good for the heavyweight division.”
Parker paid respect to Wilder for getting rid of a ‘tricky fighter’ and credited both men for providing a back and forth spectacle for all in attendance.
“Ortiz is a tricky fighter, man. It was good action and it was exciting going back and forth, back and forth.”

“It was a good fight,” Parker told BoxingScene.com.
Parker also says Wilder won his respect after finally displaying ‘the heart of a champion.’
“I was worried but he showed the heart of a champion and he showed that he wants to stay at the top for a long time and he came back,” Parker revealed.
Parker did share that he was watching that fight not as an intrigued spectator originally. Instead, he was analysing a potential future opponent.
“We are watching as fans of boxing but also watching as a potential future opponent.”

Parker shared he was on the lookout for potential strengths and weaknesses in his rivals’ arsenals. However, he once again reaffirmed all his focus is on March 31st at The Principality Stadium.
“So you are sort of looking at the strengths and weaknesses that he has and things that you think will work but that is obviously down the road and we are focused on Joshua.”
