A rejuvenated Kell Brook says he is in fighting shape and ready to take on leading Americans Terence Crawford and Keith Thurman at either 147lbs or in a catchweight encounter.
Former IBF welterweight champion Brook (39-2, 27 KOs) has been campaigning at 154lbs in recent times, but has dropped weight easily while training with British world champions Josh Taylor and Billy Joe Saunders in Fuerteventura, Spain.
Talks took place earlier this year for a fight with Crawford whilst Thurman has previously expressed interest in a money-spinning fight in Britain. Brookâs name still carries currency so both fights are realistic options when boxing returns to normality after the Covid-19 Pandemic eases.
“I’m staying busy and ready,” Brook told Sky Sports. “I’m going to put myself in the best position for when things come back to normal.
“I’m very keen on fighting Crawford. I think Keith Thurman has spouted that he would love the British pound. He’d like the fight, so I’m keeping myself active in Fuerteventura with Josh Taylor, Billy Joe. They’re a good bunch of lads out here. We’re working hard.
“I’m very light. I don’t like to say what weight I am, but I’m very light, especially for me having no date,” added Brook, who was last seen KOing Mark DeLuca in seven rounds in February.
“If it’s Crawford, he’ll be defending his [WBO] title, so it will be 147. Thurman, it could be a catchweight. I can be ready for October, November for 147.”
