Ryan Garcia has his own huge fight night coming up but has first spared a moment to assess Anthony Joshua versus Francis Ngannou and claim that ‘it is hard to go against Ngannou.’
Garcia has got many people concerned about his mental state in the last couple of weeks given his rather erratic antics in the build-up to his world title shot at Devin Haney.
It will be his second big step up following a fight in April last year ending in a body shot knockout against Gervonta Davis. He now faces the newly crowned super-lightweight champion Haney, who is coming up from being the undisputed champion in the division below.
Garcia has been outspoken about everything from ticket prices to the fight’s location, Haney’s religion to his opponents chasing of belts and not legacy. Some including his former girlfriend wonder if he is unwell, or if it is all just great promotion for their fight.
In a new message posted on X, he has cast his eye over the upcoming heavyweight bout and initially backs Ngannou before then picking the former two-time world champion to come out on top, and relatively early.
“Hard to go against Ngannou due to his ability to surprise my self and everyone else especially in that fury fight that being said, Joshua in 4 or 8.”
Should Joshua get a knockout victory that early in the fight, it would send a big message to Tyson Fury, who fought Ngannou in October last year, was knocked down in the third and only managed to labour to a points win over the 10 rounds.
