Eddie Hearn is not particularly enamoured with his former broadcast partner Sky Sports and has claimed they are playing ‘a dirty game.’
Hearn had many successful years with Sky Sports during his first decade in the sport and managed to transform boxing’s profile in the UK as a result.
Together they put on some huge nights such as Carl Froch versus George Groves, twice, and many of Anthony Joshua’s biggest nights including all of his world title wins and the first shock loss to Andy Ruiz Jr in Madison Square Garden in June 2019.
However, the last couple of years have seen Hearn working with global sports broadcasting platform DAZN and now he has fired shots back at his old colleagues.
Speaking to Boxing Social, he has now been asked about the relationship between the two.
“Sky are being told not to push any Eddie Hearn, Matchroom and DAZN fights and have been for years. When I was at Sky I had a go at them and asked why are you pushing all these other fights over mine.
“They said cause they are independent and they like to support the sport. Since I left they haven’t given us one tweet, one post, or one bit of air time which is really sad.
“Katie Taylor, Josh Taylor vs Jack Catterall, it would be great for British boxing to get on that and say it is back. You’re supposed to be impartial as a news outlet but that is just the sadness of the sport. It is what it is, it’s a dirty game, baby.”
