Nigel Benn Says Son Conor Would ‘Annihilate’ British Rival: “He’s An Animal”

Nigel Benn has spoken out about the possibility of a fight between son Conor and Chris Eubank Jr being rearranged, and how he thinks that fight would go.

‘The Destroyer’ was due to face Eubank last October, before the bout was dramatically pulled during fight week after news broke that he had returned a positive VADA test.

However, the past couple of weeks have saw fresh rumours that the fight could be revisited this year, with question marks being raised over whether or not Eubank’s rematch with Liam Smith will go ahead.

Speaking to Boxing King Media about the possibility of this, Nigel stated he believes son Conor would ‘annihilate’ Eubank Jr.

“I don’t know what happened, I really don’t, but I feel like this fight couldn’t go on. I think my son would of annihilated him.”

“He’s a welterweight who hits like a middleweight or super middleweight, he’s an absolute animal.”

“God willing, everything works out soon in his favour and he’ll be back on top. He’s more determined now than he ever has been.”

There has been no official comment regarding any potential postponement or cancellation of Smith vs Eubank Jr 2, however Conor Benn recently revealed Smith had told him he wasn’t ‘too confident’ the fight would take place.

Despite being incessantly linked to big fights, Benn is currently provisionally suspended and awaiting a hearing with UKAD to determine the future of his career and whether or not he will be forced to serve a ban following the positive tests for Clomiphene and the subsequent information he has gathered in an attempt to clear his name.
