The much-anticipated Matchroom vs. Queensberry 5 On 5 event that is taking place in Saudi Arabia on June 1 is a pay-per-view show and the price of it has now been revealed.
After years of avoiding each other, rival promoters Frank Warren and Eddie Hearn are now collaborating to organise a number of different boxing events and on June 1st, they will face off in a five versus five matchup.
Hearn has handpicked five fighters from his Matchroom stable to compete against five boxers from Warren’s Queensberry Promotions. The format dictates that the side with the most victories out of the five fights will emerge victorious.
These five bouts were set to serve as the undercard for the highly anticipated undisputed light heavyweight championship bout between Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol though Beterbiev is injured so that fight has been postponed.
Instead, Bivol will be defending his WBA super lightweight title against Malik Zinad. Bivol’s journey to the top began in 2016 when he captured the interim WBA light heavyweight title, later elevated to full champion status. His global recognition soared after a dominant victory over Canelo Alvarez in 2022, solidifying his status as a formidable force in the sport.
Bivol has continued his winning streak with two consecutive victories since then. Zinad is vying for his first world title opportunity. Despite being unranked, Zinad boasts an impressive record with 16 wins by knockout.
With world title opportunities and prestigious belts at stake, the card promises to be just as thrilling as the Bivol vs. Zinad bout. Fights include Zhilei Zhang vs. Deontay Wilder, Raymond Ford vs. Nick Ball, Filip Hrgovic vs. Daniel Dubois, Hamzah Sheeraz vs. Austin Williams, and Craig Richards vs. Willy Hutchinson.
Hearn is boldly predicting a clean sweep with a 5-0 victory for his team. However, the outcome remains uncertain. ESPN provides a comprehensive breakdown of the Hearn vs. Warren 5 vs. 5 showdown.
A new post on X by Everything Boxing reveals two different prices depending on DAZN subscriptions.
“The DAZN PPV price for the Dmitry Bivol + 5 vs 5 doubleheader (featuring Dubois-Hrgovic and Wilder-Zhang) will be £21.99/$69.99 for new subscribers and £20.99/$68.99 for existing subs.”
The card has big competition from the Champions League final which will also be shown at the same time, but given the magnitude of some of the contests, it is still expected to be a popular choice for fight fans.
