The recent light heavyweight clash between Khalil Coe and Buneet Bisla produced one of the rarest moments possible in a boxing ring – a double knockdown.
Coe and Bisla locked horns on the undercard of Edgar Berlanga vs Jason Quigley at The Theatre at Madison Square Garden, and ended up providing arguably the biggest talking point of the event.
As the pair traded right hands and both landed flush in the very first round, Bisla was floored and received a count from the referee. However, although it wasn’t noticed in real time, replays showed that Coe’s knee touched the canvas too.
Double knockdown on the replay! 🤯

It all proved to be inconsequential, however, as Coe asserted his dominance throughout the contest and stopped Bisla in the seventh round.

The win took Coe’s professional record to 6 wins, 0 losses and 1 draw, as he continues to establish himself in the paid ranks after a hugely promising amateur career.
In the main event in New York, Berlanga scored four knockdowns on route to a unanimous decision victory over Quigley, marking a successful debut under the Matchroom banner for the hometown fighter.
Although a wide winner on the night, ‘The Chosen One’ will no doubt be slightly aggrieved he was unable to get the stoppage, as it is now his fifth points fight in a row after all of his first sixteen fights ended via first round knockout.
Canelo Alvarez’ signing with PBC was disappointing news for both Berlanga and new promoter Eddie Hearn, who has stated his desire to match his charge with the likes of Jaime Munguia, John Ryder and Billy Joe Saunders.
