Ryan Garcia might be in camp for his next fight but that hasn’t stopped him from clashing with Shakur Stevenson and giving his word that the two will come to blows after that.
Gracia’s erratic behaviour recently has got many people worried about his mental state. He will be stepping up to challenge for a world title on April 20 when he steps into the ring with former undisputed lightweight champion turned super lightweight belt holder Haney.
Since this fight was announced, he has done some bizarre things such as turning up to a press conference on a horse, admitting he smokes weed and drinks, complaining about the ticket prices and location of the fight and throwing plenty of barbs at Haney.
Although his social media accounts were deactivated earlier in the week, he is now back on X and involved in a clash with another world champion in Stevenson, after the two spoke on Garcia’s live Space.
Stevenson: “Will you fight me if you win April 20? That’s the question.”
Garcia: “I want the rematch with Tank. If I can’t get that rematch, we’ll start talking. I’ve been telling everybody that since the beginning. I told Charlamagne tha God that I would fight you, did I not?”
Stevenson: “No, you barely said it, you said hardly anybody know me.”
Garcia: “I didn’t know people wanted to watch it. Did you know? I didn’t know. Ain’t nobody told me to fight you.”
Stevenson: “Stop it bro, you can stop capping. You’ve been exposing everybody, being real, keep it real my boy.”
‘King Ry’ then hit back and listed his resume so far as a reason why he would not avoid Stevenson.
Garcia: “So I fought Gervonta, I’m fighting Devin. You don’t think I would fight you? Why would I not fight you?”
Stevenson: “Okay, so can you give me your word if you come out victorious, f**k it, even if you don’t come out victorious, will you fight me next?”
Garcia: “If I don’t get the rematch with Tank, I would do it. You have my word. If I don’t get the rematch with Tank, you have my word, we’ll fight.”
This stems from a live broadcast on Spaces that Garcia shared on X in which he questions why Gervonta Davis has been saying he will lose his next fight and then he said he wanted a rematch with Davis after Haney, and then got into beef with Stevenson.
All these distractions can’t be a good thing for ‘King Ry’ ahead of another huge fight in his career.
