WBC Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury has posted fresh footage from his training camp in Thailand and made a defiant prediction, ahead of what could prove to be his toughest test to date, an undisputed title showdown against Oleksandr Usyk.
Fury famously defeated Wladimir Klitschko and Deontay Wilder with two completely contrasting styles, adjusting his game plans from a defensive approach to coming forward and overwhelming opponents with the help of the ‘Kronk Style’ and his trainer SugarHill Steward.
However, in his recent bout against debutant Francis Ngannou, he struggled to find success with either approach and was dropped in the third round before edging a split-decision on the cards in a performance that sparked concern that he may be on the decline.
Now the ‘Gypsy King’ faces fellow heavyweight champion and legendary technician Usyk, who will undoubtedly attempt to out-think and out-move the taller, more physical man.
Yet, in a clip posted on his Instagram, a slender looking Fury showcased footwork of his own, suggesting that he could be planning on defeating Usyk at his own game, although the caption implied the opposite, where he predicted a knockout win inside seven rounds.

“Somebody tell @usykaa the Ace is back #inside7 can’t wait.”
Whilst Fury’s old-school training methods will cause intrigue due to his weight, it is Usyk’s unconventional workouts that will continue to grab the headlines, after footage of the Ukrainian preparing for the fight by throwing and catching kettlebells emerged.
Fury-Usyk will go ahead on May 18th, with Fury’s game plan remaining unbeknownst to the masses, meanwhile Usyk’s appears obvious yet near-impossible to prevent in what could prove to be one of the most tactical heavyweight battles of all-time.
